Purpose of the Society

  • To encourage the study of family history and genealogy.
  • To encourage the identification and preservation of records having genealogical value, especially those of DuPage County, Illinois, and to make those records available to members and to the general public.
  • To cooperate with other societies and libraries to further the field of family history and genealogy.

 

Our membership year begins June 1.

General membership meetings are held at 7:00 p.m., with social time beginning at 6:30 p.m., the third Wednesday of each month, in September, October, November, January, February, April, and May.

There are no general member meetings in June, July, August, December, and March - see our annual conference.

General Membership Meetings* are held in the Lower Level Meeting Room at the Wheaton Public Library, 225 N. Cross Street, Wheaton.  An elevator is available. 

*The 2021-2022 monthly meetings are held virtually, using Zoom.


Come join us in person at our General Membership meetings or interact with us on the Society’s social networking sites. 


 

Members of DCGS volunteer at the Wheaton Public Library on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. to help those interested in researching their family history. The WPL has readers and printers for both microfiche and microfilm and numerous volumes of reference materials that span the nation and the world. Computers with access to Ancestry Library Edition, HeritageQuest Online and other resources are also available.

          

        


The DuPage County Genealogical Society is an incorporated, 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization. Our focus is on providing education for genealogists and assisting in preserving and making available local records of genealogical interest. Our mailing address is P. O. Box 3, Wheaton, IL, 60187.
